Yet another long month, with much more energy and happiness as before even though a horrible cough had me suffering for a solid week and a half!
It’s good to be « back to school », resuming roller derby training and Italian classes.
I’ve also received my replacement parts to play Ring Fit, which has done wonders for my health, physical and otherwise. Big thanks to my friend Jacky for giving me the motivation I needed to get back into it!
What I’ve read / Texte
📚 Books / Livres
In English
- Fiction
- I went into The Inn at Lake Devine with no information whatsoever on the contents of the book and was not disappointed.

- The Atlantic wonders how Taylor Swift convinced the world that she’s relatable and I like their attempts at an answer (partial paywall).
- A beautiful profile on The Portland Bar that screens only women’s sports in The New Yorker (partial paywall).
- Face it: you’re a crazy person, on Experimental History (by Adam Mastroianni), is a great dissection of how we choose our careers. As the perpetually-pivoting person that I am, I was very grateful for this read!
- The Pentagon Pizza Index is great.
- Katja Hoyer, who wrote a book I talked about last month, also has a great newsletter where she talks about Germany, Prussia, and the Weimar Republic. In this post, she talks about Freikörperkultur (naturism) in German history and culture.

What I’ve watched / Vidéo
I have watched nothing except for the first few episodes of the new Jet Lag season on Nebula.

🎹 Music
After a couple of years of not having a music streaming service and trying to bring back materiality and friction to my music consumption, I finally realized how miserable this makes me. So I subscribed to Deezer, meaning that I got to rediscover some musical faves of mine and will probably soon start sharing a monthly playlist, the way I used to.
What I’ve played / Jeux
- I have re-re-re-re-restarted playing Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Oops.
- As said in the intro, Ring Fit for Switch has been a top game of mine in the past month!
