Ironically, this post made me check the Indieweb Carnival and the prompt inspired me to write an entry.
I have been struggling with writing for what feels like a few years now. It hasn’t been fun.
But I’m currently on holidays in a nice house with a swimming pool and lots of time to read and relax and reflect and not have too many responsibilities, and I feel like my brain is slowly, slowly, carefully, getting back to acceptable levels of service. I’m so thankful for that, and I want to take things slowly and take care of myself.
But I’ve lost the habit of writing.
And as it turns out, prompts are good for this. Because I don’t think « oh I should write about this » when I have an idea, but I do write about things a little more, to rev up the engine again and recreate that loop in my brain of « I’ve had an interesting thought, let’s share it with the world », prompts are pretty perfect.
Tracy’s yuck is my yum, and Tracy taking the time to explain her dislike of prompts made me realize they might be a good tool in my current situation. Yay!
