I got the book as epub and found its Libro.fm link in case an audiobook would make things better.
I didn’t read the book.
The thing is, I read one book by Becky Chambers, four years ago, because she was hailed as the ultimate solarpunk writer and I would have to love it, and, well, I didn’t love it. I was bored to death, in fact; not as disappointed as I was in The Dispossessed, but enough that like with Ursula K. Le Guin, the idea of reading a second book by this author feels daunting.
I just don’t want to, no matter how much I told myself I really should and maybe I just wasn’t in the right mindset for the first attempt, and maybe I’m going to love the new one, and maybe, maybe, maybe…
Well, I don’t know about the maybes. What I do know is that I really wanted to be a good participant in the Indieweb Book Club (which I’m hosting in November, by the way!), and that every time I saw the book in Libro.fm or in my ereader, I just went, « …let’s do something else ».
Sorry, Nadja!
