This was a busy month. I launched my freelance activity for real (I’ll share the website for that as soon as I’m done with the rebrand!), completed Writober successfully against all odds, and joined the local nonprofit supermarket where I’ve volunteered much more than originally intended.
I’m happy and while energy levels are not ideal, in part because I joined three different sports sessions per week, I’m full of hope and happiness for the first time in a while, a beautiful run that remains since mid-September.
What I’ve read / Texte
📚 Books / Livres
In English
- Fiction
- The Reformatory by Tananarive Due was an excellent book, with the bonus of brilliant narration in the audiobook format.
- I also listened to The Tree-Body Problem, by Liu Cixin, which was weirdly great since I normally don’t really enjoy hard science-fiction, novels with little character development, and a few more things that make me feel like I should have hated this.
- Thanks to Sara’s Indieweb book club, I read Last Seen Online by Wren James after reading An unauthorized fan treatise

📰 Web links / Liens web
In English
- JSTOR Daily published an article about what’s queer in The Legend of Zelda. It’s a bit more detailed than « Link is a twink ».
- Daniel M. Lavery wrote a very detailed response to a spam email that confused him with his estranged father. It’s sad and funny and sad and heartfelt.
- Sometimes I wish I had a job just so I could use stuff like I’m in a fleeting.
- Who is holding up the Internet?
- Hilarious in the worst possible way, I went to the existential hope gala and left hungry.
What I’ve watched / Vidéo
🎞 Movies / Films
This month was perfect for TV viewing and the short-track world cup season hadn’t resumed, which means I’ve watched more movies than usual.
I watched Shutter Island and it kind of sucked, and Arabesque with Sophia Loren and Gregory Peck which was pretty fun against all odds.
What I truly enjoyed, though, were:
- She’s the He, a beautiful coming-of-age teenage comedy that was shown during the Vues d’en face queer film festival in Grenoble
- Some Like It Hot − yes, the one with Marylin Monroe − which was super fun and super trans (I swear it was) and where one of the villains is called signore Mozzarella because yes, it’s a ’50s movie set during the Prohibition, what exactly did you expect?
📺 TV Shows / Séries
I think I’ll soon have finished season 1 of Hacks. It’s not hilarious, but I really like it.

What I’ve played / Jeux
M. and I are still playing Lego Voyagers and it’s still adorable.
I’ve played a bit more Slay the Spire 2 but not Hades II unfortunately.
Where I’ve been / Lieux
